Athena of Velletri

Description

Taken in the Louvre, Paris 2004.

A sculpture of the goddess Athena. Further information on this piece can be read at [link] . The statue is striking, being of around three meters in height, according to the article. And my old point-and-shoot camera actually cooperated on an indoor shot, for a change. Providence? Athena was the goddess of skill at arms, so perhaps she inspired my aim, so to speak.

So...that's an ancient roman statue that's in Louvre and not in Velletri?
Strange thing.....
